Why TLoU: Remastered Is An Absolute Must-Own
Bear in mind that I'm speaking from the standpoint of a particular collector, who only desires the best.
You know, I'm not a huge proponent of all these high-definition upgrades, remasters, and "definitive editions" of existing games. I don't have a problem with them, per se, but I think sometimes, we need to leave well enough alone. And with a new generation upon us, I believe it's far more important to embrace change and future freshness.
Even so, The Last Of Us: Remastered should be part of your library if you're a current PlayStation 4 owner. The bottom line is that it's exactly what an updated game should be: It makes the entire experience better by providing players with more than standard cosmetic upgrades. From top to bottom, it's an improved game, and that's worth rewarding the developers. On top of which, TLoU is an adventure that deserves to be experienced more than once, and this gives you the perfect excuse to kick off a new game. If you haven't yet played TLoU, the Remastered edition is a no-brainer.
In my estimation, we have to wait a bit before the true next-gen titles start coming down the pike. In the meantime, we should indulge; we should treat ourselves to one of the best games ever created and in the process, we might find a new appreciation for Naughty Dog's accomplishment. Thing is, I've noticed that if you start going through the game again, you're once again reminded of the colossal achievement that was TLoU. Few games can make you feel this way, which is precisely why the Remastered version deserves to be in your collection.
If for no other reason than to pay homage to the accomplishment in question.
