Games on the other hand may not be as big of a problem, but there still may some minor shortages, after all with the Playstation 2 launching only with 500K units, gamers may begin to be frantic and start pre-ordering many games. So if there is a game like SSX, Tekken Tag, or Madden NFL 2001, and you don't want anybody else but you playing it then by all means put down $5 on it to guarantee yourself a copy. Those who pre-ordered at EBWorld.com should have gotten some notification regarding the status of their PS2 being shipped to them on day one. We ordered our extra PS2 at EBWorld.com and told them to slap a UPS next day air sticker on it for an extra $8.50, we think that it was worth it, and since EB World screwed our online order by marking it down as a 2-3 day order (thankfully I caught that two weeks after ordering it) we are now getting our PS2 shipped one day for $2.95, what a deal! I also want to tell you folks not to abandon all hope on your Playstation, games like Final Fantasy IX, WWF Smackdown 2, Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX, and McGrath vs. Pastrana are still underway, courtesy of Square, THQ, Activision and Acclaim. Though surely after January 2001 I wouldn't be expecting games like those to be released any more but who knows right?

Basically if you've got the following stores around your neighborhood you should wait outside for at least one hour, basically until they open: Wal Mart, The Wiz, Circuit City, Comp USA, Sears, K-Mart, Big K-Mart, and possibly some neighborhood store that isn't EB World, Babbages you know what I mean. Visit those "neighborhood" stores only if they tell you that they will get a Playstation 2 on day one, they don't take pre-orders, and make sure they don't rip you off by selling for anything higher than $299 that is without taxes, some neighborhood stores have a tendency towards tricking customers. With all of this said, take my advice once again, call a store around your house (Sears, K-Mart, etc.) ask them when they open and just wait for at least one hour before opening time. Make sure you also run to the videogame portion of the store, before any body else does so.
