Editorial: Stranded On A Desert Island...
Yeah, it's the classic: if you were stranded on a desert island...but we're going to add one extra twist. First of all, we'll just abandon reality for a moment and assume there's a magical set of electrical outlets on this desert island, and everyone has a bad-ass 52" 1080p high-def Plasma. In other words, you have the option of playing any system and any game; but which console would you take, and what would the games be? Now, you could be cheesy and take the original 60GB PS3, which would give you access to most all PS3, PS2 and PS1 titles, but as the current default PS3 does not offer backwards compatibility for PS2 software, that can't be used. You can, however, use the PS2 for PS1 games.
Which is what I'm gonna do. Here's what I'd take-
PlayStation 2
Final Fantasy Tactics: Because, that's why. Because it's the greatest game ever made. Because it's my favorite game ever. I could survive just fine with only this game if I was stranded on a desert island with a PS2, a TV, and a magical electrical outlet. Oh, and I'd need a PS1 memory card, so I'm going to add a last-second addendum. Get me my Lv. 99 Mastered Wizard with a Mastered Math Skill, Robe of Lords, Magic Gauntlet, MP Switch, and MagicAttackUp, and I'm good to go!
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night: I was surprised at just how quickly I took to this game, as I had never even finished a Castlevania title before Alucard's adventure. Perhaps it was because it was easier than previous entries in the series, or maybe it was because it had RPG elements that I vastly enjoyed. Or it could be due to the best soundtrack in history...oh, there are plenty of attractive elements, and I wouldn't be without it.
Final Fantasy VII: In my opinion, it's still the best RPG ever and after having gone through it four times and started a new game countless other times, it has yet to grow old. The characters, the story, the world, the Materia and overall gameplay; it was just so stellar and memorable. I still remember freaking out when Aeris died (yeah, it's a spoiler but if you didn't know about it, you're not a gamer), and threatening to drop $50 for a Game Shark in order to get her back. FFVII has a permanent place in my heart, plain and simple.
Hot Shots Golf: Fore!: Surprised? You shouldn't be. I've loved the HSG series since the beginning, and while Out of Bounds for the PS3 is awesome, I think they screwed up the implementation of the Advanced Shot system, and Fore! remains the best in terms of balance and overall fun. I challenge anyone to take me on in any HSG - provided they don't use the uber-lame Advanced Shot mechanic in OoB - and I promise you it won't be easy to win. I was one of the best online players in Fore!, although I'm probably out of practice now.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City: Still my favorite of all the GTAs, and that's primarily because I'm a huge '80s fan. I'd be perfectly happy if the next GTA is a direct sequel to this one, and set in the exact same time period. Tommy Vercetti, the obvious "Scarface" references, and the rest of the atmosphere got me from the start, and I'll still drop it in to play even today. Just cruising around listening to my '80s tunes is enough for me! And I will fight you if you start slinging wisecracks. ;)
I suppose my next option would be to take the PS1 with the three titles above, along with Twisted Metal 2 and Suikoden. My third choice would be the SNES with Super Mario All-Stars, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, NHL '94, Madden '92, and Final Fantasy VI.

I'm not saying my PS3 because there'd be rarely or no Wi-Fi around the island DX
And plus, I don't have a lot of single-player games (yet, as I have and completed, a lot of my PS2 games, and the majority of them are single-player).
I'll use my HDTV mostly for shade then lmao
P.S. Really fun Editorial to think about thank you making it.

The full Metal Gear Solid Series (counts as one in my world)
Final Fantasy VII
Gran Turismo 5 including a Driving Force GT steering wheel
The God of War series (I-III, also counts as one in my world)
Final Fantasy XIII
Damn that would be sweet if that was true. Oh, and I would also get stranded in about a year and a half or so, in order for all those games to have been released.

I'd def. have to take Shadow of the Colossus cause it's my fav game of all time, and I can never get tired of that.
Then I'd probably take either guitar hero 3 or 4 (can't choose) for it's replayability so I won't get bored so quick.
Sonic Unleashed cause I love sonic games, and even though everyone hates on this, I love it.
Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, for all the great genesis games on it :D.
and lastly it all comes down to either one of the Budokai games or Burnout Paradise. If I went for one of the budokai games, it'd probably be Burst Limit, cause it has the best fighting, Although 3 was really good too, and it has more content, or I might take Infinite World, but I have yet to beat it so I duno how it tops up in the end... As for Burnout, that's just a no brainer, and with all the updates coming to it aswell, that's unlimited fun.

Legend of Dragoon for ps1. My favorite game ever, the game that got me into RPGs. I just loved the story, the great (for their time) graphics, and the addition system. Truly a masterpiece.
Dragon Quest 8. A close second for my favorite game ever. I've logged over 100 hours just on one file and I absolutely love the game.
Guitar Hero 3. I dont own the game on ps2 but I'd pick up a copy before I left. I need my Guitar Hero.
God of War 2. I could use his moves to inspire me on how to kill a wild boar or something.
Resident Evil 3 and 4. I likes me some Resident Evil!
Kingdom Hearts 2. One of my favorite games, Can't wait for BBS and the inevitable KH3 (we need to know whats on that letter, right?)
AND of course, my Sonic Mega Collection +. Classic Sonic never gets old for me. NEVER.
And Ben, if I has PS2 online, I'd definately shoot a few balls with you. I'd like a challenge.

Why? Because when it breaks down I have a reason to call tech support for a repair, and when the guy comes with the box for me to put the Xbox in I would hitch a ride back to main land.
And while I'm waiting for the box, I can play some Halo 3 and Gears 2 in my head to help pass the time away.
Or, I could also go swimming in the water. :)
( If I can have a 52 inch TV and electricity on a island, then I can have a phone)
Or if my Xbox breaks before I get to the island, I would have to choose the PSP 3000. As I can just Skype my friend to come pick me up.
(If I have electricity and a TV, I have internet too!)

I would then wait for the Rrod whilst playing on Gears 2 (shouldn't take too long) and then use the red lights as a flare to attract any passing aircraft :P or as a laser beam that would be seen from space.
Then possibly someone would find me and rescue me (from having a 360 and not a PS3) and take me back to England, where it would be pissing down with rain.
That is all :)
