Top 10 Titles of Fall and Winter

As we are constantly more and more impressed with the sheer presence of gaming capability the PS2 is able to obtain, a problem is almost presented that isn’t a true problem at all. In the next few months, owners of Sony’s unprecedented black box will be thrown a barrage of decisions, in the form of gaming elite so extraordinary that we as gamers may miss out on true electronic brilliance. So many new and sensational titles are soon to be released that important choices must be made, or else we may be made foolish in regards as authentic players in the videogame community. Don’t be alarmed, however. I have composed a list of top games for you to pick up in the upcoming Fall/Winter season. Although it may be impossible to own every title I will soon list, take a very close look at the titles that interest you in a particular genre. If you’re questioning a specific title’s splendor, be assured that this list is virtually foolproof, and will distribute nothing less than gaming at its ultimate best.

10.) Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy – A true adventure game brought to life with brilliant visuals and addictive gameplay. For those of you who haven’t looked into Jak and Daxter, I strongly recommend an in-depth overlook of this title. With challenging puzzle solving qualities and just an all out fun adventure, you will definitely not be disappointed with Jak and Daxter.

9.) Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 – This devilishly clever title featuring the main character of Kain is sure to enthrall even the novice of gamers. Highlighting where the original left off, Kain is an eternal wanderer, killed by a vampire and now set to take over the city of Nosgoth. Being one of two Legacy of Kain titles coming out, it is a toss up of which game will outdo the other. One thing is for sure, though. Blood Omen 2 is almost a must buy if you want to experience a twisted adventure title.

8.) Gran Theft Auto 3 – Simply put, this sadistic action/racer will keep your heart racing without fault. With all the missions and high pace chases, you may be addicted to this game in a matter of minutes. I, for one, am expecting this game to be spectacular at the least, as will grace our consoles this October.

7.) Airblade – Oh my, this game looks dazzling. With the feel of Tony Hawk, Airblade may bring a level of gaming that has yet to uncovered for this hover board genre. Tackling tricks and journeying through the story, Airblade is a title you will regret not trying.

6.) Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 – Well, after playing the Jampack demo for this game, one would question how it couldn’t be in your top 10 must have games. Due out in September, Soul Reaver 2 will be the first of two Legacy of Kain titles, and I believe we will be treated with the best right away. For those of you who have played the original Soul Reaver, this is a no-brainer. However, if you have yet to experience this type of adventure, you owe it to yourself to find out what all the excitement is about.

5.) Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 – Without a doubt the most highly anticipated extreme title coming to Sony’s console, THPS3 goes without saying as a must-buy. Most likely you could have just skimmed by the description because if you don’t already plan on getting this game, then maybe you don’t belong at a videogame website.

4.) Silent Hill 2 – Horror gaming at its finest, or should I say at its gory filled and demonic preeminent. I can simply not tell you how excited/terrified I am for this title as constant screens and videos are surfacing. What you have right here is an experience that may wet your pants, while you are too terrified to get up from your seat.

3.) Devil May Cry – I found it tough it to put this game at #3 as I believe it may prove to give all blockbuster titles a run for supremacy. Battling demons and fighting through countless worlds, DMC portrays action at its best. Although not set to be released until November 21, this castle slashing title should not be overlooked in the entourage of games that precede it.

2.) ICO – The #1 adventure game to be released on the PS2, it is absolutely a must have for anyone who praises themselves as a gamer. If you have not yet played the demo then you are shielding yourself from true adventure quality. With the gradual hype being given to this title, it is certainly justified. Do yourself a favor. Come middle September, make sure you don’t forget about ICO a.k.a. the best adventure game coming to the PS2.

1.) Metal Gear Solid 2 – You know, I almost feel guilty putting this title at #1 with all the hype and anticipation surrounding it. I don’t like to follow the masses, but in this case, they’re going in the right direction. Right now, if you are low on cash, you should be saving a couple dollars a day so come November 14, MGS2 is in your grubby little hands. The one title that overshadows all others, don’t be fooled in thinking anything otherwise.

Well friends, I hope this makes it a little easier for you come Fall and Winter. Or possibly, I have just gotten you so excited that you are unable to contain yourself. Either way, study this list. Memorize it if you have to. Every game you could possibly want will not be forgotten in this unquestionably precise directory.
