Chevelle: Wonder What's Next -- Music Review
Chevelle is a rock trio out Chicago. These guys are not only kick ass musicians -- but are siblings, as well. Riding the rather successful launch of their sophomore album, "Wonder What's Next", Chevelle serves up a fantastic slice of music to those who are always in the mood for some loud and raunchy lyrics -- not to mention, some heavy hitting guitar, drum and bass riffs. "Wonder What's Next" is one of those CDs you have to play loud, with the bass turned up. With sickeningly incredible tracks like "Grab Thy Hand", "An Evening With El Diablo", and "Forfeit", this album begs for your metal head ears. Some have compared Chevelle to TOOL. While, that's a rather farfetched comparison; Chevelle is, in their own right, a downright absurdly good band. "Wonder What's Next" is bound to end up as one of those CDs that gets stuck in your playlist (not to mention, your head) for months and months -- it's that damn good.
Pete Loeffler (lead vocalist, guitarist) is a fantastic singer with a powerful voice; tracks such as "The Red", "Forfeit", "Closure", and "Grab Thy Hand" will easily prove that much. Joe (bassist) and Sam (drummer) do a superb job at tying the knot and forming an, overall, excellent follow-up to Chevelle's debut album, "Point #1". The CD is rather cheap around most stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart) and retails around $8.99-9.99. It's an eleven track album that spans roughly 46 minutes of playtime; so your money is well spent. Make sure you check out Chevelle's -- "Wonder What's Next".
