If You Could Buy Only One Game This Fall...
For some, this is a surprisingly easy question. For others, they'll probably have to think about it for a while.
As usual, the autumn is full of promising titles and most consumers have to create a priority list. Maybe you can only buy three or four or maybe things aren't going so great, and you can really afford only one. So let's take the latter unfortunate example for the subject of tonight's editorial: If you could only purchase one game between now and Christmas, what would it be?
This is actually pretty easy for me; it's Assassin's Creed III, no two ways about it. Not only do I fully expect it to become 2012's Game of the Year, but it also gives you a ton of bang for your buck; there's almost no chance I spend less than 35 hours with it. But also on that list are games like Dishonored (set to launch on Tuesday), for which I have extremely high hopes, and some downloadable titles such as Joe Danger 2: The Movie and The Unfinished Swan. Resident Evil 6 had been a consideration but...still not sure what happened there.
So what about you? If you're a multiplayer fanatic, Call of Duty: Black Ops II is probably a given. Then again, maybe it's Halo 4 or Medal of Honor: Warfighter; I imagine both are top priorities for the shooter fans. You also can't forget Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which you may as well call "Burnout Paradise 2." That one should be awesome, too, and talk about bang for your buck... Fighting followers may already have their game (Tekken Tag Tournament 2 or Dead or Alive 5), but we can't forget about PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, can we?

Halo 4 is the only other one I'd contemplate getting before the year's end... and not for it's multi-play ;)
EVerything else are rentals or deal busters. Heck, Darksiders 2 is already $25 on Steam right now. I'll hold out for $15, or less on that one =p THQ published games drop faster than any it would seem these days.
Oh, I sorta want KZ HD. may be an impulse buy =p

All the casino's here in Atlantic City aren't doing so hot, & I don't want to move to another state just to work in a casino.
Plus N.J. right now is one of the highest states in unemployment, if not thee highest.

But I'd really honestly I'd have a tough choice between Borderlands 2 and AC3.
That's a tough choice though, because I really feel like I'd want a mp game to play with my friends. But that's the sacrifice I guess.

Mind if I do a mini-interview with you? :)
Do you mainly play RE6 alone or in coop?
Did you play RE5 in coop, and if so, how would you rate that experience?

Well, right now on top of the coop list is Borderlands 2 and no other coop will get between me and that game until it is done. But after that it sounds like RE6 should be picked up from the bargain bin after all. And I never thought I would.

RE6 co op is beyond better than RE5. There's Some similarities but it's a much better experience.
As in RE5 as you explained there was total cooperation needed. Again Same thing in 6 but more thought out, and meanwhile you feel helpless without your partner when any type of separation occurs(at least in Leons campaign, havnt played the others yet). What I mean by helpless is, it's kinda freaky runnin round by yourself knowing your help is close but unable to assist you. It brings another aspect of survival - horror/drama to the table. It's a great experience. Knowing you like co-op, absolutely recommend it. 100%! The fact you liked RE5 and it's co-op, tells me you really enjoy RE6.

Sorry ignored your mini interview, haha. To answer your questions:
Do you mainly play RE6 alone or in coop?
I bought RE6 to play co-op with my buddy who I played RE5 with. The game alone is great but the co-op experience makes it better for me.
Did you play RE5 in coop, and if so, how would you rate that experience?
I played RE5 exclusively co-op. I'd rate it one of the better co-op experiences aside from Borderlands and now RE6 of course! ;)

SPOILER it would be impossible to do a knife run with leon. Poor guys campaign is so difficult but so epic at the same time. His campaign is riddled with the original RE style. I felt like i was re-playing re2 and re4.

You'll have to forgive me for assuming that when people get burned out, it's because of being tired. (They actually go hand in hand)
Anyways, I've heard your explanation, and it didn't clear anything up, as it essentially means the same thing.
As for looking at Brotherhood and Revelations, I can understand a burned out opinion of Revelations, but Brotherhood was a significant improvement with quite a large amount of new features. Objectively speaking, of course.

I also do NOT like this new DLC trend that started with Borderlands 2(I love the game)where the devs sell you DLC packages before they are released and you get a discount on them. Now borderlands 1 had amazing DLC and all of it except for moxxis thunderdome were well worth 10 bucks.
However I dont know if I can get AC3 right away when they announced their DLC preorder package. AC 2 had a lot of chapters cut out of the game in odd places and they sold them back to you as DLC. It makes me wary that AC3 without DLC wont give you the FULL experience as it would if you got all the DLC, which would make the game a 100$ game just about.
Now dishonored reminds me of darksiders 2, not in gameplay but in that a bunch of people got together and made a game that THEY wanted to play and they built a game as a game and NOT a product. This is what Darksiders 2 did, and I'm seeing more and more games doing this, the sad thing is I'm not sure how well they sell because the games dont usually have mainstream appeal. I do hope however that this trend continues and I am praying that Dishonored is a huge success.
So yeah if I could get one it would be Dishonored, but I have my eyes on Hitman as I have been hankering for a good stealth game.

My #2 is The Unfinished Swan.
The American Revolution setting in ACIII is brilliant and the diversity of the game looks amazing. But I really dislike the writing, story, and characters of the series and I'm simply losing interest in action games in general.

I'm typically one of the first to accuse a title of becoming tired in annualized titles. But AC is one of the few franchises out there that continues to remain fresh and interesting.
Let's not kid ourselves here people. It's going to be fantastic. And if you skip on it, you'll miss out.

Ben's article on NFS Most Wanted has me thinking about that awesome race video all day so far. I haven't heard on piece of info on NFSMW Vita. I wonder how that is turning out and if it will be the same version or a nerfed version.
It's a tough time of the year because there are so many games and I have so few time to play them (Dad with 4yr old). I still have ACII and RE5 I am trying to finish. Borderlands 2 sucks right now because I cannot depend on my COOP partner at all :( Might have to bypass COOP and go for it alone. Also, Ragnarok Odyssey looks amazing! Dishonored for sure though as I have preordered it on PSN.
