Ahead of the planned public announcement, the price for the highly anticipated remake of the beloved Assassin’s Creed game has leaked early, according to the reliable and renowned leaker Billbill-kun.
Naturally, though, when they announced it, it was all confirmed that the game will launch at $59.99 or £49.99. The collector’s edition, which includes a premium statue as the headlining item, will retail at $199.99 or £174.99. The price for the collector’s edition certainly falls in line with industry standards at the moment. The real questions revolve around the price for the standard edition. Given the pricing structure of remakes, especially those which launched in the previous generation, it may be unfortunate for some people.
However, this all hinges on the quality of the remake itself. We will have to see later today about how Ubisoft will justify the larger price of the remake. If it ends up as just a graphical overhaul, it may end up killing the momentum and hype surrounding the release.
So, what do you think of the price? Is it fair or would you have preferred it to be cheaper? Feel free to comment your thoughts below.
