DLC For The Witcher 4 Is Unlikely According to CD Projekt Red CEO

After the huge news dropped about The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt getting a major DLC over a decade into its existence, fans were quick to assume CD Projekt Red would try and replicate a similar amount of story expansions for the upcoming The Witcher 4, but the companies CEO shared that won't be the case In a recent interview (via GameSpot) CD Projekt Red joint CEO Michal Nowakowski shared that although the previous game was supported with soon-to-be three major expansions, the developer won't likely have the time to commit to a similar amount of post-launch support this time around. CD Projekt Red intends to complete the entire Witcher saga within the next six years, and for games with a scope as large as The Witcher franchise knows this is a tight deadline. They will likely need to start work on their next game in the series, presumably The Witcher 5, right away after the fourth game is complete. The developers shocked the gaming world this past week when they dropped the big announcement of the upcoming Witcher 3 DLC, Songs Of The Past, being at last confirmed and coming next year. It makes sense that fans would expect CD Projekt Red would want to support The Witcher 4 as long as the third game, but based on this super tight schedule they have, its unlikely to expect DLC for any future titles. With the Songs Of The Past DLC and The Witcher 4 on the way and drawing closer, it is a good time to be a fan of this franchise, and although the era of years-long post-launch support is seemingly at an end, there is still much to look forward to for the franchise as a whole.
