“No zombie deer. No zombie deer. No zombie deer.” That’s not some chant — that’s what Undead Labs studio head, Philip Holt, said about State of Decay 3. A hoped feature for the threequel to Xbox’s long-lasting zombie survival sim was zombie animals, but alas that wasn’t meant to be.
In the same interview with Sunny Games (via GamesRadar) that we learned the game was “in a Word document” by the time Blur released the first trailer, he also killed any hope the game would feature undead animals. As previously, the trailer was more of a concept of what the team thought would be cool to tackle in State of Decay 3.
“And as we’ve had a chance to build a team and get going on the game, some of those elements I think are gonna persist in the game that we deliver and some of those things are just, like, we’re not doing zombie animals.”
