Without
a doubt one of the world's most recognized cartoon
family, The Flintstones are receiving yet another
game this time from Southpeak and Adrenalin (with no
"e"). Instead of a cliché adventure
title, The Flintstones will be about bowling. It is
very far of from its release date, which is
scheduled to be released this October 24. Southpeak
claims that Bedrock Bowling is like no other bowling
game you have ever played, trust me they have proof
to back it up and we have the screens to show you.
Take a look at an early preview of Bedrock Bowling.
This really seems to be one of the PS' more colorful
and cheery titles, Adrenalin will make a visual
statement with Bedrock Bowling. They will try to
re-create many of Bedrock's famous areas, and at the
current screens we have to show, the job that is
being done looks great. Character animation should
be crisp and smooth the game's current stage is
already look pretty good, lets just hope the
developer can do more with the PS. The opening movie
will be a CG which will replicate the cartoons
intro, yabba dabba doo!
This will definitely be like no other bowling title
you have played. The trick to the game is that you
don't bowl the ball, instead you are the ball --what
the?--. You get a launch, as you progress through
colorful Bedrock environments avoiding obstacles,
your goal is to guide the bowling ball through all
of a certain stages challenges while collecting gems
and awaiting the encounter with pins that come at
the end. It may sound like a long operation but it
will most likely be done in about 30 seconds.
Southpeak has said that the game will be four
players, but they haven't commented on whether it
will be round robin style or 4 way split screen,
knowing the PS' disabilities it will most likely be
a round robin event. Characters such as Fred,
Barney, Wilma, Betty, Bam-Bam, Pebbles and Gazoo
will make their appearance in Bedrock Bowling.
Bedrock Bowling is on schedule to be released on
October 24, 2000. It may see a short delay but
nothing is for sure, expect the game to be released
before the holiday. Adrenalin's twist on bowling
looks great so far, Flintstones Bedrock Bowling will
be one of the more unique titles this year.
