The much anticipated Driver 2 ships for PlayStation.
Infogrames has recently announced that the much-anticipated Driver 2 has been shipped for Sony's PlayStation. The pre-orders alone for the driving game are by themselves impressive, as the game has hooked 1.2 million buyers before the game's launch. Once again, gamers will assume the role of Tanner; an undercover cop who has been assigned to hinder and gather information on organized crime organizations by occupying himself as a getaway driver or "wheelman" for the mafia. The game boasts several new features as well, including a two-player mode, additional vehicles, larger city layouts, as well as the ability to ditch current vehicles and continue the chase in other cars.
"The success and worldwide appeal of the Driver franchise continues to grow and has become one of the most widely recognizable and best-selling properties in the interactive entertainment industry," commented Martin Currie, Infogrames' director of marketing. "As we head into the key holiday selling season, we hope to continue that success as elements of our multimillion dollar marketing campaign come to bear."
