Hironobu Sakaguchi honored in the Multi-Media Grand Prix 2000 Awards.

Hironobu Sakaguchi, the mastermind behind the infinite greatness of the Final Fantasy series, was recently honored at the 'Multi-Media Grand Prix 2000 Awards' in Tokyo. Sakaguchi-san was the evening's most honored individual, as he was recognized for shaping the Final Fantasy series into one of the greatest and most popular in the history of videogaming. The Ministry of International Trade cosponsored the event which honors the crème de la crème of videogaming, as well as other forms of media. Sakaguchi-san offered encouraging words while accepting his award at the ceremony, as he promised that the Final Fantasy series would retain its position as the company's flagship RPG franchise despite the changes brought on by the impending transition to PlayStation 2.
