PSOne mobile gaming a reality.

The allure of the hot-selling PSOne console has always been the possibility of mobile gaming on the aging platform, but until recently that ideal had not yet been realized because of the absence of a mobile screen. However, Thrustmaster has now alleviated these woes, as the company recently confirmed an upcoming five inch, high-resolution color TFT-LCD screen. The device, dubbed the XL Screenmate, will be the largest portable screen exclusively available for the PSOne platform.

Boasting a 30 percent increase in screen image, the XL Screenmate will offer a myriad of additional features to complement the screen's size. For example, the XL Screenmate is backlit and will boast built-in speakers. Moreover, fixing screws will be included to stabilize the connected screen and console. PAL/NTSC color system compatibility, earphones socket, and an AV port are all to be standard on the upcoming device.

Additionally, the unit allows for road trips, as the XL Screenmate will be shipped with a car adapter.

The XL Screenmate is slated for a March release. The unit will carry an MSRP of 129.99 British pounds.
