Activision brings the stars to gamers.

Activision, forever the humanitarian videogame developer, is offering misanthropic gamers the chance to get just a bit closer to a shred of greatness through its 'Chill With a Pro" sweepstakes offer. The grand prize offered by the contest is a trip to meet a star from the chaotic realm of action sports -- Tony Hawk, Mat Hoffman, Shaun Palmer, and Kelly Slater have all endorsed the promotion. Additionally, gamers can win BMX bikes, skateboards, surfboards, snowboards, and a sampling of Activision console games.

Entries can be logged at Activision's website at www.activision.com from now through March 31, 2001. Entry forms are also available at leading electronics retailers, including Babbage's, Best Buy, Comp USA and Electronics Boutique. Gamers who don't have access to the Internet or stores (strange as it may sound) can enter the sweepstakes by mailing to the company a 3" x 5" card complete with name, age, address and phone number to Activision Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 7308, Newport Beach, CA 92660. All mail-in entries must be postmarked by March 31, and must be received by April 15.

In support of the sweepstakes, Activision is offering a free gift with the purchase of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for any platform: gamers purchasing the acclaimed title at Comp USA, Kmart, Babbages, Toys 'R' Us Canada or Electronics Boutique can claim the poster, which depicts all four athletes featured in the event. Finally, the company will be offering a limited edition lithograph signed poster at Best Buy stores across the country.
