FF Chronicles released.
Final Fantasy Chronicles has officially been released for the Sony Playstation, and will include both Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV, two of SquareSoft’s classic role-playing games. The graphics have stayed classic and as for FFIV, this will be the first time American gamers will receive the entire title, complete in its story.
"Both Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger are widely considered groundbreaking titles that changed the standard for role-playing games,'' said Jun Iwasaki, president of Square Electronic Arts. "We have added a variety of new features to both games for this compilation and are greatly pleased to reintroduce these two classic titles to our North American fans on the PlayStation game console.''
An added feature for both games will include new opening and closing FMV sequences, with FFIV also providing a two-player mode, a dash feature that will allow quick movement through vast environments, new monsters, abilities, and items. Well known for their original release on the Super Nintendo, Square has offered a unique release that will occupy the time between their FFX release in early 2002.
