June 2001 Top 10 games.
Fighting with the newly released Game Boy Advance, the Playstation 2 has presented two games in the TRST Top 10 games of June 2001, with Nintendo obtaining seven titles on their three gaming systems (GBA, GBC, N64). The Sega Dreamcast has still been able to crack list, however slipping with heavier competition.
1: Super Mario Advance - GBA - Nintendo
2: Twisted Metal: Black - PS2 - SCEA
3: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - GBA - Activision
4: NBA Street - PS2 - EA Sports
5: Zelda: Oracle of Seasons - GBC - Nintendo
6: Zelda: Oracle of Ages - GBC - Nintendo
7: Sonic Adventure 2 - DC - Sega
8: Castlevania: Circle of the Moon - GBA - Konami
9: F-Zero Maximum Velocity - GBA - Nintendo
10: Mario Party 3 - N64 - Nintendo
The PS2 has shown two games in the top 5, which is an excellent indicator of the continual progress Sony is making with their next generation console. With GT3 just being released, I would predict it shooting the PS2 to #1, with TM:B and NBA Street holding position in the top 10. Game Boy Advance has proven to be very popular, and is displaying this fact with incredible game sales. Continue to expect an ongoing struggle between Sony and Nintendo for top sales.
