Bleem shuts down

It was announced today that Bleem has closed its door to the production of its PC and Dreamcast emulation units. The company had been able to emulate Playstation games on both systems and has been going through continuous court litigation from Sony and their representatives. The president of Bleem, David Herpolsheimer, stated that the constant legal efforts by SCEA had depleted the small company’s funds, and forced them to shut down operations. Sony has reportedly spent $10 million in litigation involving Bleem for the PC and Dreamcast, and has pressured retailers to remove all products related to Bleem and the emulation of their products, as it violated their audio and video patents for its Playstation games.

Bleem has also stated that they have no plans to reorganize their company. The products Bleem was able to make involved the ability to simply look at the game’s code and analyze the information for emulating PSX titles.
