Sony's official LCD screen released!

SCEA has announced today its latest peripheral for the PSOne, a new LCD screen. The re-designed, compact device allows for play just about anywhere, as it delivers crisp resolution and stereo sound. The LCD screen enables gameplay without the hassle of a television and allows for every PSOne title to be played.

"The LCD Screen (for PS one) will enhance PS one's capabilities to serve as a compact entertainment system that adapts to individual gamers' needs," said Ami Blaire, director, product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. "We are taking the PlayStation brand to a new level of gaming by giving our consumers the pure enjoyment of their favorite PlayStation games outside of the home."

The new LCD screen will be available for a suggested retail price of $129. However, it can also be purchased as a bundle that includes the PSOne for a limited time at $199. This package will be available early 2002.

The PS one LCD Screen Combo Package includes:

   -- PS one console

   -- (1) DUALSHOCK(TM) analog controller

-- (1) 5" (measured diagonally) crisp resolution LCD Screen (adjustable

   brightness and sharpness)

   -- stereo sound built-in speakers

   -- (2) mounting screws

   -- AC Adapter

   -- Instruction manual.
