Take Two Interactive has announced that Rockstar Games, the company's high end publishing division, will be bringing the cult movie classic The Italian Job to the Playstation console. Based on the 1969 film, the game will feature all the classic car chase scenes from the movie, including the famous escape sequence from the piazza. Rockstar also announced that the game would initially retail for only $9.99.
"'The Italian Job' boasts some of the greatest car chase scenes in any movie," stated Jamie King, director of development for Rockstar Games. "'The Italian Job' will re-introduce the cult classic film to a whole new audience and bring an exciting, new gaming experience to PlayStation owners at a great price."
The game was released in the European market last year and was met with critical acclaim, quickly becoming a top seller in several countries. The Italian Job is scheduled to release on April 29th, 2002 in North America.
