GT Creator On Motor Trend's Power List

Motor Trend's Power List is always a hot topic of conversation amongst vehicle, driving, and racing enthusiasts everywhere. The 2007 List, however, includes a bit of a shock: Gran Turismo creator, Kazunori Yamauchi.

If you weren't aware of this Power Listing, it's Motor Trend paying homage to those who made a significant impact on the automotive industry each year. In fact, if you recall, this sounds very similar to Famitsu's recent Big Cheese award for the gaming industry. But it may be a poor comparison, considering just how widespread and well-respected the annual Motor Trend Power Listings are.

Most gamers recognize Gran Turismo as the premier racing franchise in gaming, and one of the best series of all time, but landing on this list is quite the achievement. Yamauchi sits at #29, ahead of some seriously big names, like the CEOs of Honda and Ferrari. Who says gaming isn't a viable and legitimate form of entertainment?
