Recent censorship rumors revolving Dragon Quest VII denied by Enix.
Recently third party developer Enix, the company responsible for the Japanese smash Dragon Quest VII, laid to rest rumors suggesting that the American version of the title was to be altered because of religious and cultural differences. The Japanese publication Famitsu confirmed the silencing of these rumors, and credited the rival Japanese publication Sankei with the birth of the rumors in the first place.
A spokesperson for Enix had this to say in explanation, "As a matter of policy, when we bring games over we want to keep it as close as possible." The spokesperson added, "We don't make changes because they irritate hardcore fans and detract from the game." Dragon Quest VII is currently very popular in Japan, selling extremely well, and this title may very well turn into one to watch after the Final Fantasy hype dies down.
There were also rumors that the game would not ship on time as the company promised. These rumors were were also smothered by Enix.
