Tecmo announces Hop-A-Bout on PlayStation.

Third party developer Tecmo has recently revealed Monster Rancher Hop-A-Bout for Sony's PlayStation. This game should be a breath of fresh air to experienced gamers, as the title evidently reverts to classic arcade-style gameplay. Players will be challenged by well over 100 different obstacle courses.

Jon Inada, Tecmo's marketing director, had this to say about the announcement, "Monster Rancher Hop-A-Bout can best be described as good clean fun for any age." He elaborated, "We've gone back to the days of simple arcade games, where traveling from one point to another brought quick to master, yet challenging to complete, excitement for gamers." This announcement should certainly come as music to the ears of classic videogame fans, who haven't seem this type of gameplay for quite some time.

Fans of the series will recognize many of the game's characters, and gameplay consists of avoiding diverse obstacles and traps such as skull panels that do your character harm. Also, gamers have the option of amending the game's stages, as well as the ability to create a maximum of four fully customized course of their own. The game is two player, and retails for U.S.$29.99. The title is scheduled to be released by the year's end.
