Metreon has special plans for Final Fantasy IX.

We've learned that the Sony Metreon in San Francisco will be selling Square's much-anticipated role-playing game Final Fantasy IX a day early. The Sony Metreon plans to sell the epic quest between 2:00pm and 5:00pm on Monday, November 13. The title is to be released on November 14 everywhere else in the country. In addition to the Metreon's early release offer, the first 100 buyers of the highly publicized RPG will bag rare Vivi dolls, and a Final Fantasy IX item that has yet to be officially named.

If you're interested in the Vivi doll, but can't get to the Metreon for some strange reason, it's still possible to pick one up by way of winning an onsite contest. The contest has the familiar tune of estimating the approximate number of Vivi dolls in a sizable container. The winner of the mentioned contest will also be awarded with a U.S.$500 Squaresoft package, which includes SquareSoft memorabilia and collectables, a shiny new console, as well as other prizes.
