Chrono Cross Preview
A couple of weeks ago Square officially revealed, the sequel which is considered to be the most popular RPG ever. If you don't know, I am talking about Chrono Trigger, and now there is a sequel in the works called Chrono Cross. The game is scheduled for a release next year, maybe around the launch of PSX 2 in U.S. So you don't have to start saving your money just yet. But the wait is excruciating though.
If you thought Final Fantasy games had killer stories and great gameplay, wait 'till you play Chrono Cross. The gameplay should be very unique as well as stimulating. The game's story is still a big question mark, but the gameplay will be very weird and in a good way too. Square has completely scrapped the method of getting experience points (exp) and raising your level, I personally think it's a good idea. Man, Square is always full of surprises and great promises.
Now, there is a demo version of the game and I have seen it in action, and I must say the graphics look great, the lighting effects are spectacular and sweet. The title boosts some awesome special effects as well, and the battles are to die for. For my big question now. Will Chrono Cross have anything to do with Chrono Trigger in any way? Speaking of Chrono Trigger, now I know this is off the subject but Chrono Trigger will be remade exclusively for PSX, although we may never see it here in the US.
Well recently I have found an answer and it is, yes! The game will take place in the same world as Chrono Trigger, and you might even come across some familiar areas from time to time. Now that we know Chrono Cross will have something to do with Chrono Trigger, I only wonder if you a Chrono Trigger character might pop up somewhere, or maybe even join you.
Chrono Cross is still not due for about another year, but hell it will be worth the wait. Let's just see if it beats FF7's or FF8's sales. And if want the demo then you will have to import Legend of Mana which comes with 3 other demos, like Dew Prism, Vagrant Story (video) and, Front Mission
3.
