Resident Evil: Gun Survivor Preview
The third Resident Evil title is just a few days old and Capcom is already geared up for the sequel. This isn't really a sequel and not a prequel either, instead this a whole new twist to the Resident Evil series. This time around you are playing in a first person view a'la Time Crisis. You go around shooting zombies, and other characters from the previous RE titles. This should truly be a unique twist for the Resident Evil saga.
Capcom is hard at work trying to make Gun Survivor a better shoot 'em up title than Quake 2, Time Crisis or even Point Blank. They are more than likely to succeed at accomplishing this, because we all now and trust Capcom on developing quality titles and I can't really remember when they brought a horrible game. Street Fighter has also evolved into another genre, it went from 2D fighter into a 3D fighter, and now the Resident Evil series is going through it's own evolution. The game will be compatible with the GunCon, and both of the GunCon's buttons will be functional.
From what I can tell so far the, graphics are quite impressive. They need some more work, but for a game in it's early stages the game looks like it will please visually. I'm still not sure weather or not the game will use pre-rendered images, or real time. But from the looks of it, it seems as if the game maybe using real time not pre-renderings. Although the game is still in it's early stages it's too early to tell.
The game won't only be a shoot 'em up with no plot, the game will feature an adventure mode, in where you have to collect, keys, notes, finding guns, and more items that should be helpful through out the journey. Still no release has been scheduled neither here or in Japan, but my guess is that the game should hit stores around the middle of 2000.
