007 Racing Preview
James Bond, the man who gets anything he wants, is not only getting a killer looking PS/PS2 first person shooter, but he's also getting his very own action/racing game. EA announced their plans for 007 Racing earlier at this year's awesome E3 Expo. The game displayed at EA's kiosk was in very early development and EA hopes to get the final results looking and playing much better and faster. There are only three screenshots at the time right now and currently the following is the information we have been able to squeeze out, enjoy it for now.
The visuals are very early right now to judge, but at this stage they don't look so bad. The car models need a little more polish and that's about it. Meanwhile the scenarios are sharply detailed and look quite appealing. Since there are a few vehicular combat elements, things such as explosions are present in 007 racing and they look pretty good at this point of the development cycle. I haven't seen much of 007 Racing since E3 and hopefully with the right amount of attention this Bond racer will be a pretty positive title to look for.
The cars that James Bond has driven in the past will be the cars that you'll drive in the game. It could be anything from a Lotus to an Aston Martin or even a recent BMW. Bond will have an array of weapons and gadgets to use, including missiles, a radar map, and a life meter that displays the damage of the car. The areas are linear based and not closed course arena based. Eutechnyx is currently developing 007 Racing and if all things go well this can be a pretty good Bond title. 007 Racing is currently slated for a Fall/Winter 2000 release my bet is that a few delays will happen here and there.
