Summer 2000

Disney is the worlds best children entertainer. Their movies such as Toy Story and Beauty and the Beast kept putting a big smile on children's faces. We all have see The Lion King, the movie which brought tears to many adult's eyes, and then we have a movie that falls in between Disney's emotional side and happy side. Dinosaur is Disney's newest animated flick, like Toy Story 1 and 2, it uses 3D animations, so the whole movie is also a big eye candy experience. Usually when Disney has something big on their hands, they make some sort of video game out of it, take Aladdin or Toy Story 1 and 2 for example, all three films had video game counterparts and all three films were #1 box office hits. Dinosaur is another #1 box office hit and Disney has given UbiSoft the rights to publish Dinosaur.

We all know that it is impossible to get a video game version of Dinosaur looking like the movie on the Playstation but that isn't stopping Sandbox Studios from creating a very bright looking adventure game. There will be many vibrant colors all around the game and all of these colors give Dinosaur a more closer look to the movie. The textures like trees, rocks and bushes wil look incredibly good, although I haven't seen the game in motion I can still tell by these lush looking environments that Dinosaur will be a pretty looking game. As soon as we can get screenshots of UbiSoft's Disney title we will post ASAP.

Dinosaur's gameplay will be based around the movie. The Dinosaurs are in danger of extinction, it is a race against time with three main characters. The first dino is Iguanodon Aladar (who is also one of the stars in the movie), the second is Zini the lemur and the third is the winged Pteranodon Flia. Each character will have different stages and missions to complete. Speaking of stages Dinosaurs will offer 11 different stages to explore, based on the movie's key segments. Each creature has his own strengths and weakness, Iguanadon is the largest of the bunch and can get anything out of his way with one tail whip. Zini is a monkey (we at PSX Extreme love monkeys) who has the ability to climb and jump high over obstacles blocking the path. And finally Flia is able to fly, this creature is probably the best overall dino, not only can it fly, but it can also search for danger, or even swoosh down to attack a pray or get food.

UbiSoft has said that Julianna Margulies, D.B. Sweeney and Max Casella will be lending their voices to the game as well. Not only that but there will be movie sequences put into the disk as well, so between stages an FMV straight from the movie may pop-up. Disney's Dinosaur should be available this month, if you hear the pitter patter of little feet everyday then I suggest getting Disney's Dinosaur, chances are they'll love it.
