When Sony announced a racing game featuring 166 cars, people thought that it couldn't be done. Well Sony and Polyphonal shocked the world of Playstation, by releasing a game called Gran Turismo, and which is now known as the "king of racers".

The graphics are so beautiful that you might think you're playing an FMV. The car detail is phenomenal, truthfully I think N64 can't even do what PSX is doing. Let me make a little note, Sony said it themselves that GT is using only about 80% of PSX's true power. Although the graphics are gorgeous, the game does have a few very very minor glitches, when driving an Acura NSX, you can see the back wheel on the right. But other than that the game runs at Hi-res graphics.

Gameplay is very good, but there are a few reasons it's not perfect. First of all the game does have 166 cars, so sometimes it can be a pain collecting them all but when you do that it'll be all worth it. But other than that GT is a very fun game, but be careful because the game is a 'real-life driving simulator'. The simulation mode can get pretty hard when it comes to passing the license test which allow you to compete in more races.

The sound in the soundtrack is as good as Audio CD, but the sound effects could be imroved a liitle. But let's talk a little bit about the soundtrack. The songs are Rock, and gives the game more of that adrenaline rush.

Since the game is a 'real-life driving simulator', the controls take time to get used to. It took us about 30-40 minutes to get used to the controls, before we stopped slamming into the walls, but don't let that discourage you from purchasing the game.

With 166 cars, 11 tracks, a long simulation mode that can last you about half a year, an Arcade mode and tons of goodies to unlock, believe me when I say that GT will last you for about a year.
