Replay Value: 8.9
After playing Jet Moto 2, I thought that the franchise was doomed. Because of Jet Moto 2's, bland graphics and cheap variety, I was assuming that Sony/989 could never turn this game around. I got to admit, I was proved wrong big time. 989 have totally taken this game to a new level and have redefined the meaning of racing. Find out why.
Graphically Jet Moto3 boasts one of the best graphical engines out there (in a racing game that is). The tracks design in my opinion is very good. The detail in graphics is beyond great. All of the riders look very real, and the backgrounds are also very thorough. And last but not least let's not forget the awesome CG intro, witch was rendered very nicely.
Jet Moto3 is one of the most entertaining racing games out there right now. When playing Jet Moto 3 you can feel the adrenaline rushing. Keep in mind that Jet Moto 3 is now all about pulling off great turns and break neck speed. To keep you more into the game, 989 Studios as always included some secret tracks. And in order to get them all you have to beat season mode. Like all racing games Jet Moto 3 features a two player mode, to add more life span to the game.
I like the soundtrack featured in Jet Moto3. In consists of techno beats, and rock beats, or techno and rock in one track. The hover bikes' engines sound very good, especially when you activate a turbo. Water splashes sound good too, but that's not that important.
Very easy control, and very tight I might add. Jet Moto3 takes full use of the dual shock analog controller. The L3 button is to rev-up (while not in motion) and to hand brake (during motion). And the R3 button is to use the turbo boost. Playing with the analog sticks is much more realistic and fun. I prefer playing the analog joysticks, but those of you who still haven't got an analog pad, shame on you.
Variety is the big issue in Jet Moto 3, and Jet Moto 3 doesn't really disappoint, but it could have used a little more characters. The first Jet Moto had around 20 mind boggling tracks. The second game I don't even want to talk about. And the third has a nice fine number of 11 tracks. Jet Moto 3 features 11 characters, 19 tracks that are nicely designed, 2 player support, great support for the Dual Shock and gameplay that will be leaving screaming for more. I guess 989 is good for something. Kudos to 989 Studios and Pacific Light for developing one of the most enjoyable racers I have ever played.
