The most popular TV show in the US is now Who Want To Be a Millionaire. Host Regis Philbin of Regis and Kathie Lee was hired to do the American version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Reeg himself never thought that the show would sky rocket into such a phenomenon and it came to his surprise when he saw the ratings of his enormously popular show. But what came to no surprise to all of us was a videogame based on the show, Millionaire was released on PCs and held the number one spot for an incredibly long time. Sony who is the owner of the American Millionaire show decided that they will release an edition of Millionare on the PS. It didn't take long to create the game, but is it as fun as we'd like it to be or does this game make you feel sorry for Regis?

Visuals are nothing at all. They re-create only the monitor which displays the questions and answers and that is it. There are no menus to fiddle with no nothing. There no 3D models except the two monitors when a 2 second CG is shown zooming into the action. I can't say anything about the visuals they are way too plain but at the same looking just like the show and give the feeling of the real thing.

Rating the gameplay part of the game is pretty tough. It all depends on your feelings toward show. If you like the show, and stay glued to it while the tension is rising, then you'll like this game. If you have no interest in the show when it is aired your experience with the game will probably be negative. Personally, I believe that this game sets the mood of the show very well and this is probably as close as you get to the real thing but not everything is as smooth as it should be. Sometimes questions are randomized in a very bad way. On my first game, first 4 questions, two of them were about baseball and two were about candies, now that is something that we don't see in TV show.

Millionaire is packed with sound clips of Regis. The conversations during the "Phone a Friend" lifeline are very well put. Everything is crystal clear and if you close your eyes it's as if Regis is right there in front of you,... okay maybe not, still close though. Who Wants To Be a Millionaire isn't a deep game at all, hence the reason for the very short review, all you do is answer questions and that is it. The game also has that moody tune that plays in the background of he show when a contestant is waiting to answer. All of the sounds from the TV show are present in the game show, my only gripe on the sound is the very annoying lines that Regis has if you win no money. But a good show in the sound.

All in all, this is a good title that creates the atmosphere of TV show pretty well. Everything from graphics to sound are similar to the real thing but even though it is a great game for the fans, there are better alternatives. If you have a PC (and that's a pretty dumb thing to say) I suggest getting the CD-Rom version of the game because you pay almost half and get the same experience. The other alternative is a free one where you can simply go to ABC's site and play the game there, but the questions are taken from previously aired shows. So that's my take on that and I hope that now all of you have an easier time making your final decision.
