EA's cyber athletes return once again and this time it's in another FIFA title. Last year FIFA '99 was one of the best selling soccer titles ever. The game had great graphics, excellent sound courtesy of EA, and revolutionized in realism and gameplay. And it looks like EA Sports' FIFA 2000 looks to do the same except it will feature a couple of tweaks here and their. But will those tweaks be enough to make the game feel even more intriguing?

Graphically, FIFA 2000 speaks out for it self. The game screams 'look at the character detail. And well I got to say that the graphics are superb. The game features fluid moving players with excellent frame rate as well as great looking character models. The detail in each player is phenomenal, it really looks like EA Sports spent a lot of time on making the characters move and look their best. All else I can say is this: FIFA 2000 boasts excellent looking graphics, that probably push the PSX to it's limits.

This is by far the most realistic soccer title ever. Not only does it feature hi-quality graphics but it features superior gameplay. I admit I'm not a huge soccer fan but I do watch it from time to time and I think it's a great sport. It isn't very easy to create a game as realistic in terms of gameplay as FIFA 2k is. Basically the gameplay is very real, every aspect of it is taken straight out of the real thing. You can do every thing from a power tackle to and getting a card for it or you can fake out your opponent by pressing R1 or R2. For some reason there is no better feel than making a goal. It is the weirdest thing in any sports game I played, whenever I make the shot and score a goal I literally scream GOAL!!! I feel like I have just won a the lottery or something. Or maybe it's just because this game is very addictive for Sports Simulation title that is. Another very real feature in FIFA 2k is that when you are carded by the ref, you see a zoomed in shot of your player arguing with the ref. And let's not forget those great looking goal celebrations. Every time a goal is made you will witness the players dance, the dancing is very realistic which adds more realism to the game and plus they're funny.

Like all the other EA Sports titles, the play by play commentary is near perfection. The commentators keep up with the action and they also add great color commentary. Playing this game almost makes me feel like I'm watching a real soccer game on TV. Also while the game is paused you will hear songs, which feature excellent quality and I have never heard any break up in either the EA Sports intro or the commentary.

For a while the control may be a little difficult, but later on it will fit you, and pretty soon you will see your self faking out your opponents and scoring goals as fast as you can spell G-O-A-L. The control layout goes like this, Triangle is to turbo, X is to pass, Square is an air pass, O is to shoot and R1 and R2 are to fake. The defensive layout goes as follows, Square is to tackle hard, O is to do conservative tackle, Triangle is turbo, X switch player.

Keep in mind that this is a party game for up to eight of your friends (including your self), and if you have a multi tap make sure to use it with this game. In the end FIFA 2000 is a sports title that features great graphics as well as the most realistic play by play commentary, and should not be missed by any sports fan. Call up seven of your friends and go get FIFA 2000.
