Although the franchise has never enjoyed the same popularity in North America, Monster Hunter has become one of Capcom's most lucrative video games thanks to multiple successful installments in Japan. The latest, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, has eclipsed the three million sold plateau in the Land of the Rising Sun, and there's even a special TV commercial to announce this fact. Here it is, and although short, it basically says, "the entire damn country is Monster Hunter crazy." Perhaps if more people in the US and Europe caught on to the fad, Capcom could start buying other developers with boatloads of cash. As is, though, Monster Hunter is a money making machine.
