This marks the first time in the franchise's history where car damage will be evident, and if you're wondering why, there are several reasons. We believe, though, that the biggest reason is this: as Kazunori Yamauchi isn't interested in doing anything half-assed, he didn't want to provide us with a super realistic racer and a completely unrealistic damage model. Now, we have the technology to do it correctly and therefore, it will finally show up in Gran Turismo 5. Sure, it'll make everything that much more challenging but whoever said racing was easy? If you want authenticity, look no further.
