Ubi Soft snipers down Red Storm.
Today Ubi Soft of USA announced that they have acquired Red Storm the owners of the massive Tom Clancy Rainbow Six videogames. The transaction to which will make Red Storm 100% owned by Ubi Soft will be made soon and personally I can't wait for things to get started. Some very few job changes may be made but only in the UK Wimbledon headquarters of Ubi Soft. Red Storm of UK employees will now be working along side employees of Ubi Soft UK. But US workers won't have to worry about any layoffs. Just remember this, although Red Storm will be owned by Ubi Soft, when you boot up a new Rainbow Six game, the Red Storm logo will still apear, meaning that games will be still published under the Red Storm brand. If you remember, Sinister Games and Grolier Interactive were also recently acquired by Ubi Soft, and with their latest acquisition Ubi Soft is around the sixth ranking as biggest gaming publisher in the world. EA, Sony, Nintendo, Sega and Activision round out the whole top 5 biggest gaming publishers around the globe. I think that this acquisition was a presumptous move on Ubi Soft's part, with Ubi Soft's incredible Rayman games, Formula One games, and with Red Storms Tom Clancy shooters, this is a match made in heaven.
