Europe announces Greatest Hits for PS2

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe announced today that it will be releasing a collection of PS2 games that will be labeled "Platinum" Greatest Hits. Featuring some of the most popular titles on the PS2, the Greatest Hits library will be handled the same way PSX titles were.

Gran Turismo 3, Tekken Tag Tournament, Formula 1 2001, Dead or Alive 2, TimeSplitters, Oni, Crazy Taxi, Red Faction, and Starwars: Starfighter were chosen for this honor, four from SCEE and five from third-party publishers. The games will debut on March 1, 2002 with a reduced price and a recognizable cover.

Commenting on the launch of Platinum, SCEE's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, David Reeves said, "The original Platinum collection was hugely successful, with over 50 million Platinum titles sold for PS one."
