New HDD shipment headed to Japan

SCEI announced today that both internal and external versions of their HDD hard drive/network adapter unit for the PS2 are complete in development. With anticipation of more testing involving Final Fantasy XI, the new HDD shipments will take place February 22, allowing beta testers the ability to pick up these units. Square has made it so the HDD's are required to play their upcoming RPG, however, the game could not be properly teted without Sony's cooperation. Demand for the HDD adapters is expected to increase as FFXI nears its release date. PSX Extreme will keep you updated.
