Mortal Kombat confirmed for PS2

Midway Games announced today that Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance has been officially confirmed for the Playstation 2. MK:DA will be the fifth title in the popular fighting series and only the second 3D version of the game. Following MK4, Deadly Alliance will feature a completely revamped 3D engine and is said to stretch the limits of Midway's prized fighter.

The few game details we have includes a limited list of characters: Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Jax, Sonia, Reptile, Shang-Tsung, and Quan Chi. More characters and further details will be announced in the future by Midway. Expect to see MK:DA on your PS2 this fall 2002.
