Sony inks a deal with Compaq to boost production.

In a recent announcement, Sony has linked up with Compaq in order to produce their 150MHZ Graphics Synthesizer in a Compaq factory located in Isahaya City, Japan. This was an extremely smart decision by Sony. The PS2 has literally 'caused frenzies in Japan and it will most likely do so here in the US as well as Europe.

With the little bond between Sony and Compaq, Sony expects to be able to produce 500,000 PS2 units per month, and that will greatly lower shortage on Sony'svideo gaming shop just to get your hands on PS2, you could worry less. Although the demand may be extremely high for the system there may not be a shortage of the system, hopefully. There is still no date set for the US or European Playstation 2 releases, but is speculated that the system should arrive here in Fall.
