Everquest headed to the PS2

Recently announced by Sony Online Entertainment, the multiplayer RPG title, Everquest, is currently in development for the Playstation 2. Officially titled Everquest Online Adventures, the game will be similar to its PC counterpart (but isn't a port of the PC original), including nine playable races, 13 classes, and customizable faces, hair, and gender. Also a possibility, SOE plans to feature nine different cities and eight forms of terrain. The environment will be 360 square miles and needs no upgrades or add-ons. Load times have been virtually eliminated and "quests" will be showcased in the game to promote player interaction.

Everquest will allow players to simply plug in their modems and play the game. Also, the setup is completely 56K friendly, making it relatively easy for anyone to play. EverQuest Online Adventures is scheduled for release in Q2 2003.
