Gamers getting carded for M rated games at K-Mart and Wal-Mart.
After Sears Roebuck and Montgomery Wards stopped selling M (Mature) rated videogames on all gaming formats, it seems as if Kmart and Wal-Mart will be taking a similar approach but much lighter. Starting October 2000 Kmart will now have a special message come up every time an M rated game is scanned. The message will ask the cashier to check for an ID, no ID no game. Wal-Mart still doesn't know when they will be doing this but other companies like Toys R US have been enforcing this rule for awhile now. The Sears three blocks down from the office still carries M rated games. This news event made me run down and check it out for myself, and guess what I saw? Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil: Nemesis and Tenchu 2. Once again this move is being done for preventing sadistic and violent behavior. So what's next now I can't go outside, I can't watch the news, or watch a movie? If you ask me this is all a bunch of croc!
