Sony Reaffirms Network Launch

Despite rumors to the contrary, Sony reconfirmed today that they will be launching their online network in late August as scheduled. This is consistent with Sony's announcement in March that they will be launching their online network this summer along with it's Network Adapter, which will retail for approximately $39.99. Sony's online network will allow users with currently existing online accounts to utilize those accounts when playing games online, and will support both broadband and dial up connections.

Sony plans to have multiple games ready for the launch of their online network, including SOCOM: Navy Seals and Twisted Metal Black.

Thanks to Gamespot for this lead.
