Acclaim and Dave Mirra through 2007
Featuring 10 levels, new motion-captured animation, and more than 1,700 tricks, Z-Axis is currently working on Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3, which will be released on the PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox. Along with this, Acclaim has re-signed professional BMX rider Dave Mirra to an exclusive strategic licensing sponsorship agreement. The agreement is apparently a 5-year deal, putting the Acclaim logo on Mirra's bike and helmet through 2007.
"Dave Mirra is the best BMX athlete in the world today and we are very pleased about continuing our association with him," said Evan Stein, vice president of Brand, Acclaim. "Our Dave Mirra portfolio of action sports titles are the most highly regarded in the category, and we continue to set new benchmarks each year with innovative design and captivating gameplay. We know that with Dave on our team, Acclaim will take the genre to an entirely new level."
Dave Mirra commented, "Acclaim makes the best BMX games, which capture the thrill of the sport and deliver authentic action for gamers of all ages. I'm excited to be working with the company again and can't wait to see how people react to Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3."
Z-Axis is also currently developing Acclaim's next extreme sports title, Agressive Inline, which will be released sometime midyear. PSX Extreme will keep you updated on both Acclaim titles.
