Ubi Soft to publish Rocky

Ubi Soft has announced that it has received the rights to publish the movie-based Rocky game for the PlayStation 2. Characters from the game will include Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, and Tommy Gunn. A lot of the animation has been motion-captured and provides a very realistic boxing recreation. A variety of modes are available, such as knockout tournament and exhibition. A special movie mode will also be featured, in which players can progress through events of the actual Rocky movies.

"We are delighted to have partnered with Ubi Soft for the release of Rocky, as the title is one of our most important games due for release this year," said Paul Finnegan, CEO at Rage. "We believed that it was essential to have a major partner in place who could maximize the title within the US marketplace."

Rocky is expected to be released this fall.
