Indy Racing League signed by Codemasters

  Codemasters announced today that it has signed the rights to publish games based on the Indy Racing League. UK developer Brain in a Jar will produce the first IRL game, as the company is known for Ferrari 360 Challenge. The Indy Racing League features F1 cars that have have 3.5-liter V8 engines and can hit 650HP with top speeds reaching 225mph. The vehicles are manufactured by General Motors and Nissan, and can reach 100mph in less than three seconds. Codemasters has the ability to post all IRL team rosters and use the Indianapolis 500 imagery.

   The first Indy Racing League will be released on the PS2 next year.
