E3 2002: Cash Money Millionaires announced for PS2
Screamin Monkey Entertainment has announced a gang warfare title for the Playstation 2 titled Cash Money Millionaires. Inspired by Cash Money Records CEO Ronald "Slim" Williams, the game puts you in the role of a Street Thug who wants the respect, money, and fame of being a Cash Money Millionaire. You begin your quest with only a handgun, as you must get cash from robbing neighborhood stores. As you become more wealthy, you are able to take on bigger jobs, involving drugs, violence, and prostitutes. Power is a major issue in CMM, so you must continually be watching your back for enemies. It is your task to keep an eye on the competition, as Colton City becomes the center of an all-out street war. Automotive combat and street fighting will be the main source of action.
"It will be like being in your own action movie, with a full city at your disposal", states Dean Martinetti, Owner and Lead Designer of Screamin Monkey. "Adding the elements of the best action movies we have seen from the states and Hong Kong, Cash Money Millionaires will allow players to experience the car stunts, close calls, intense action and tense moments that make the action genre in the movies so exciting."
With 20 main missions and 60 sub-missions, the game blends multiple genres of videogames into a single cinematic action game. Showcased items will include car chases, shootouts, foot pursuits, helicopter chases, rooftop chases, and hand-to-hand combat. As players cruise the streets, random missions pop-up via their pager or cell phone, adding a similar feel to Grand Theft Auto 3. Players will be able to freely roam the city or buy services from local gun merchants, mechanics, or fast food joints. Drag racing and gun fights will also be a way to improve your character's abilities.
Cash Money Millionaire will be released in 2003.
