FFXI free in Japan until July

Square announced today that Final Fantasy XI will be free of charge in Japan until July. This information came from its official PlayOnline website, which highlighted some information on the PS2 online RPG. Launching on May 16, the servers have been facing moderate technical problems since the first day. The monthly fee for Final Fantasy XI is priced at 1,280 yen per month, as 100 yen is charged for each additional character. Although completely playable, there are still scheduled downtimes for maintenance. We'll keep you posted on any FFXI information.
