Soul Calibur 2 headed for arcade
Namco confirmed today that Soul Calibur II will be hitting arcades around July 5 nationwide. Several modes will be featured including arcade, time attack, training, survival, and conquest. We have specific details for the conquest mode, as it is expected to appear a month after the game hits arcades. Players will engage in eight consecutive battles against opposing factions, as they will first enter their user name and password and select a character. Four factions will be available and character performance affects the territories and player skills. Sadly, players will be forced to play the conquest mode on a regular basis, since characters are only initially saved on the arcade cabinet they register with.
The console version of Soul Calibur II is expected sometime next year in Japan.
