Dragon's Lair website launched

  It was announced today that a new website has launced for the PS2 title Dragon's Lair 3D ( The game is based off the popular 1980's arcade game and is expected to be a rather promising. The official website offers great information on the franchise, along with trivia, background, and history on the arcade game. Also, for those interested, there will be an excellent forum to share ideas on the upcoming title.

  Dragon's Lair 3D will include over a dozen new characters, 43 massive areas, and more than 250 new rooms to explore. Along with these features, the game will showcase intro and ending cinema, with original music to set different themes.

  "All of us collaborating on Dragon's Lair are continually amazed and delighted by the enthusiasm fans have shown year after year for Dirk the Daring, Princess Daphne, the animation and the story," said Rick Dyer, president and CEO of Dragon's Lair LLC, Dragonstone Software and the game's original designer. "The new web site offers us the perfect opportunity to communicate directly with our fans and provides a forum for them to exchange messages with their Dragon's Lair friends. As the Dragon's Lair 3D launch draws closer, the website will be THE destination for up-to-the-minute details on the game's availability."

The website will include:

  • An exciting two-minute trailer previewing the game, hand animated by Don Bluth 
  • Dragon's Lair 3D message boards 
  • Screenshots, wallpaper and character art, all hand animated by Don Bluth 
  • Recent press releases, feature lists and other continually updated information on Dragon's Lair 3D 
  • Lots of trivia, background and history on Dragon's Lair, including a timeline 
  • Biographies on the original creators, who are actively involved in designing the new videogame 
  • Links to Encore and Ubi Soft, publishers of the videogames; Digital Leisure, the publisher of Dragon's Lair DVDs and distributor for AnJon action figures; and Prima Games, creator of the Dragon's Lair 3D strategy guide.
