Square and Quest team up

It was announced today that the Japanese developer Quest has sold its exclusive resources to Square. Already selling partial rights to Square earlier this year, Quest is known best for its Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre franchise. However, in 1997 team members Yasumi Matsuno, Hiroshi Minagawa and Akihiko Yoshida left the company and decided to join with Square. While there, the development team created the very popular Final Fantasy Tactics, an obvious Tactic Ogre replica. Due to this, Quest settled for games primarily on the NeoGeo Pocket, N64 and GBA.

Square has not announced whether or not this acquisition will lead to a Ogre Battle title, but it likely the company will focus their attention with the series on the Playstation 2. Other forms of the game should follow on multiple consoles in the future. PSX Extreme will continue to cover this story as we receive information.
