Tokyo Game Show Line Up
The Tokyo GameShow 2002 is close to fruition, scheduled for September 20-22, and it will be held at the Makurhari Messe. The show is being strung together by the Japanese CESA (Consumer Entertainment Software Association) with advance tickets anticipated to go on sale starting July 22, and will retail for approximately 1000 yen. Bandai, Enix, From Software, Hudson, Idea Factory, Koei, Konami, Microsoft, Namco, Sammy, Sega, Square, Takara, Taito, and Tecmo are expected to be present among 74 companies who have already reserved booth space for the show. The two largest absentees are Nintendo and Sony, and during the coming months, they will hold their own separate events. The attendance of last year’s show, which has been moved to an annual format due to a decline in both public and developer interest, was 59 exhibitors. With the significant increase in attendees, there should be a great wealth of new developments for the year of 2002.
